So, with nearly 2 weeks under my belt since arriving back from vacation, it seems I've completely neglected to write anything. It's a wonder that I haven't heard from anybody...
I went home last night after my short day, only 4 classes, and sat on my bed for a bit wondering what I could conjure up
for dinner. I'm in the process of moving to a new 3 bedroom place, and most of my non-parishable food stuff is already
there. My fridge hasn't exactly been stocked lately either. So, I went on down to the local 24hr family mart. Like a good
friend, it's always open for whatever your needs. Anyhow, I wound up buying a package of fake crab meat, some kimchi, and a
beer. I got back home and still didn't think that could be nearly enough to really satisfy. I did have buns and cheese though. Hmmmm......grill cheese. So, after cooking up a couple "sandwiches", my dinner consisted of "crab", kimchi and grill cheese type things with beer. Who else could possibly put such an odd combination together and not mind it but me? And that's all I have to say about that...

Vacation, you ask? It was all right, I guess.....much much shopping, running around and lots of family. I got home to only a few relatives and mostly quiet and things escalated from there. With each passing day, things seemed a little louder and more American. It was a bit much for me. Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see most of my family, but I really think I do better with small doses, even before living in Asia. I got in enough small talk to last me for quite a while. Now....those of my family reading this may be a hurt a little now. I don't mean any offense though. I just prefer to hang out with smaller groups and with people I'm closer to than many people that I don't really know all that well. It just seems a little fake to me. I did enjoy hanging out during down times and talking with some of my cousins and aunts and uncles that I know a little better and having more relaxed and "real" conversations.

Oh...we did do some cool stuff though. I enjoyed going golfing with some cousins and others. David, my brother-in-law, and I were partners and we just kinda laughed at the others that actually knew how to hit the ball. We, or at least I, just laughed in surprise if the ball even went in the air or straight. We went paintballing another day too, with about 15 of us. Hehe....was that fun. I'm definitely gonna have to do that again. Course, my body hurt for the next 5 days afterwards, but it was all worth it in the name of "combat".

Now, things are relatively back to normal back here in Uijeongbu. My classes have been going fine, and I'm feeling a little more relaxed after getting a little break. I'm gearing up now to a good friend coming and teaching at our school in a little over a week. That's why I'm in the process of moving. Clinton and I will be sharing the new place. Did I mention it's on the 18th floor of a high-rise? Pretty funky. It's a nice place though, and it'll be nice to finally be in a real apartment and not just an efficiancy. I'm really looking forward to having a roommate to talk to and hang out with too.

So....with that little synopsis of things on my end, I'm off to teach my adult class. I wonder what I should teach them
tonight....
